“The Right to Live” (No. 653, December 2014-January 2015), the magazine of the LICRA devotes 13 pages to the “100 years of the Armenian Genocide” with a cover photo of protesters marching to the memory of Hrant Dink Armenian journalist murdered by a Turkish nationalist in Istanbul in January 2007. Under the title “Happy as an Armenian in France,” “The Right to Live” interviewed in Valence (Drôme) “several leaders of the Armenian community witnessed the cultural and community life.” Of these, Henri Siranyan (Vice-President of the National Federation of French veterans of Armenian origin, Krikor Amirzayan (journalist, cartoonist and community activist), Alain Jinbachian (President of the House of Armenian Culture of Valencia) and father Andranik Maldjian (Armenian Apostolic Church of Valencia). An article is also dedicated to the Armenian memorial Der Zor (Syria) recently bombed by Islamists.
In an article titled “When the movie is a work of memory”, a large part is devoted to Jacques Kebadian “a man who devoted part of his life to tell the story of this tragedy and its global impact.” In “The Other films on the Armenian Genocide, “the magazine recalled the major films on the Armenian genocide with” Ravished Armenia “(1919) Oscar Apfel,” Nahapet “(1977) Henrik Malyan,” The 40 Days of Musa Dagh ” (1982) Sarky Mouradian, “Mayrig” (1991) by Henri Verneuil, “Ararat” (2002) Atom Egoyan’s “The Cut” (2015) by Fatih Akin and “Genex” (2015) Valerie McCaffrey and Gary Titizian.
