Azerbaijan shells barekamavanOn July 21, in the period from 23:00 to 01:00, the Azerbaijani side shelled Barekamavan village of Armenia’s bordering Tavush province.

As Jonik Mikaelyan, head of Barekamavan community, told Panorama.am, the adversary opened irregular fire towards the village with two-hour time intervals.

“We did not suffer any casualties or damages,” he added.

Mr. Mikaelyan also informed that this is not for the first time Azerbaijan fires shots towards the village.

“We had many such cases previously, however shots were not fired towards the village in the past one year. Whereas, they [the Azerbaijani forces] open fire in the direction of the military posts almost on a daily basis,” the village chief said, adding that life proceeds normally in the village, with its inhabitants engaged in their daily struggles. “We are not a coward people,” he added.

Terrorist State of Azerbaijan shells Armenian border villages

Azerbaijan’s armed forces shelled several border villages in Armenia’s Tavush region on Thursday night, causing minor material damage to several residents’ property.
Speaking to Tert.am, the mayor of Baghanis, Narek Sahakyan, said their community was under fire from 9pm to 10pm. “We have not suffered essential losses; a few house roofs were damaged, and one resident had his house fence hit by a bullet,” he said.

Koti, another village in Tavush, also came under Azerbaijani fire at the same hours, the community’s governor confirmed. “The village suffered damage but not very significant,” he said, adding that the situation in the community is now calm.

Both villages were fired intensively by Azerbaijani troops also in the late hours of Wednesday

Azerbaijan shells Armenian border villages, disrupting September 1 events

f55e588531ca97_55e588531cad2.thumbOn Monday evening and Tuesday morning, Azerbaijan’s defense forces opened fire on border villages in Armenia’s north-eastern region Tavush.
The communities Voskevan and Baghanis faced heavy shelling by the adversary ahead of the start of the new academic year.
“Well, with the onset of every holiday – be it September 1, New Year or whatever – it is a kind of habit with them to shoot us. It is on such days that they attempt to unmask their national character by spoiling everything,” Narek Sahakyan, the mayor of Baghanis. told our correspondent.
He said that that an interstate camp in the vicinities of the village’s school came under an armed attack, disrupting the September 1 celebration ceremony.
The village’s mayor added that the attack left no survivors, damaging only several school windows and building façade walls.
“The children came in the morning, received their assignments and left,” he said.
Voskevan Mayor Seryozha Alexanyan also confirmed the report on the armed attack, saying that the Azerbaijani forces had opened fire in the southern direction.

Azerbaijan shells Karabakh defense positions

f55dc60997b907_55dc60997b93f.thumbThe Azerbaijani armed forces shelled Armenian defense positions along the Nagorno-Karabakh Line of Contact overnight, opening fire from TP-107 rocket-artillery launchers.

According to a press release by the Defense Army, the adversary released about 110 mines from 60mm, 82mm and 120mm mine throwers.

The frontline subdivisions of the Defense Army managed to suppress the Azerbaijani troops’ activeness, continuing the military vigil across the frontline.
