Denmark: Out! Copenhagen Evicts Notorious Islamist Organization

May 13, 2016 By administrator

1039555246Copenhagen Municipality informed the Islamic organization Hizb ut-Tahrir that it is no longer welcome to use state-funded rooms and locations for its meetings and dealings, thus marking the end of Denmark’s long-drawn-out legal battle with the notorious Islamists.

The decision to bar Hizb ut-Tahrir from undermining democracy in state-owned premises came just days after the Danish government tightened the screws in its public information law in a bid to cripple extremist associations and groups promoting violent radicalism.

The doors to taxpayer-funded facilities have finally been shut for the notorious Islamist organization after years of failed attempts by the state of Denmark in an uphill battle against the Islamists’ tirades against Jews, homosexuals and Western democracy.

“I am a very happy man. Now we can finally ban extremists and subversive organizations from using the municipal offices,” Copenhagen Deputy Mayor for Culture and Leisure Carl Christian Ebbesen of the Danish People’s Party told the news outlet Altinget.

The eviction of Hizb ut-Tahrir is one of the practical consequences of the new government agreement among the Social Democrats, the Socialist People’s Party, the Liberal Alliance, the Conservatives and the Danish People’s Party to crack down on extremist religious preachers. Under the agreement, municipalities must stop providing support or leasing premises to associations that undermine democracy and fundamental human rights and freedoms.

“The government will no longer be a fool with its own money,” Culture Minister Bertel Haarder of the Liberal Party said, ensuring that the new law may also be used against the notorious Grimhøj Mosque in Aarhus, which last year made international headlines by declaring its support for Daesh and encouraging its flock to stone adulteresses to death.

Hizb ut-Tahrir, which numbers around one million members around the world and was started in 1953, aims at replacing democratic society with a caliphate and establishing the radical Islamic sharia law; it has already been banned in a number of countries, including Germany, Russia, Turkey and all but three Arab nations.

Hizb ut-Tahrir first came to Denmark in 1990 under the name of Khalifa or Khilafah, which is still the name of their magazine. According to various estimates, the notorious organization has several hundred active members and sympathizers. However, Denmark has been struggling with the association since 2002, when the first proposal to forcibly dissolve Hizb ut-Tahrir was submitted.

In August 2006, Hizb ut-Tahrir’s spokesperson in Denmark was found guilty of threats against the then Danish Prime Minister Anders Fogh Rasmussen. In 2007, a kindergarten in Copenhagen was reported being run in line with the ideology of Hizb ut-Tahrir.

Armenia joins Shanghai Cooperation Organization

April 16, 2016 By administrator

f5711f4c6e910a_5711f4c6e9141.thumbArmenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization’s (SCO) Secretary General  Rashid Alimov have signed a memorandum of understanding to give Armenia a parnter status within the Organization.
In a speech at the ceremony in Beijing on Friday, Armenia’s top diplomat highlighted the importance of the country’s cooperation with the SCO, describing it as a key platform for developing a dialogue.
He also highlighted the document’s value as a measure outlining the key trends of cooperation in promoting regional security and stability, joint anti-terrorism efforts, and fight against drug-trafficking and transnational organized crime, reports the Foreign Ministry’s press service.
The minister further emphasized the importance of the deal as a key legal basis to develop a multi-lateral cooperation in trade and investments, energy and transport and telecommunication between Armenia and the SCO member states.

Highlighting the new cooperation for his part, Mr Alimov said he feels happy to involve a country with such an ancient history in the Organization.
The sides agreed that the new partnership relations will mark a new phase for developing the mutual ties and opening prospects for deepening the cooperation.
Established in 2001, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization has six member states: China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.

Jewish organization urges to recognize Armenian Genocide

October 22, 2015 By administrator

JCPA councilThe Jewish Council for Public Affairs at its annual meeting last week called on Jewish community organizations to lobby Congress and the White House to formally recognize the Armenian genocide. A JCPA spokesman on Wednesday confirmed that the resolution was the umbrella group’s first recognition of the Armenian genocide.

The Reform movement has called the massacres a genocide, but many other organizations have resisted such moves, Asbarez reported.

The resolution calls for the Jewish community to work with Armenian-American groups to advance recognition of the genocide.

“We must not let the politics of the moment, or the U.S. government’s relationship with Turkey, sway our moral obligation to recognize the suffering of the Armenian people,” it says.

Istanbul-based Islamic charity organization ‘uses ISIL-adopted insignia’ on logo

June 17, 2014 By administrator

ISTANBUL

The Haznedar Islamic Research, Sustenance and Helping Association (HİSADER), is located in Güngören, one of Istanbul’s popular districts.

n_67896_1An Islamic charity organization based in an Istanbul suburb is using an insignia adopted by the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL), daily HaberTürk has reported.

The report comes amid claims that some Turkish associations were recruiting militants for the jihadist group who have recently launched a wide-scale offensive in Iraq.

The Haznedar Islamic Research, Sustenance and Helping Association (HİSADER), located in Istanbul’s popular district Güngören, have for a long time been campaigning to raise funds for charity work to be undertaken in Syria.

The association notably uses “the stamp of the Prophet Muhammad,” nowadays associated with the ISIL, but previously used by several other Islamic organizations. The insignia includes the Shahadah (the Islamic declaration of faith) and the Quranic phrase: “There is no god but God, Muhammad is the messenger of God.”

According to its website, the association is also involved in combatting drug addiction and prostitution.
The same insignia can also be found in neighborhood shops, where many parents claim their children have been sent to Syria or Iraq to fight alongside the militant group. HaberTürk’s reports claim a woman threw stones at the shop, shouting, “Give back my child.”

Another man told the newspaper that his 21-year-old son joined ISIL after choosing the path of religion as a means of fighting his drug addictions.

“[First] he was gathering with a group of young people. He [then] dedicated himself to prayers. Then he started to accuse us of being infidels. One weekend, he left and he never came back. His friends told me he went to Syria with 15 other people. I begged him to come back, but he said he couldn’t and he was [in Syria] for jihad,” the boy’s father explained.

‘Ignorance’

HİSADER President Volkan Sağlam rejected the report on June 17. Sağlam said in a written statement that his association had no relationship with ISIL or any other organizations. “Not knowing the meaning of the writing on the logo shows the ignorance of those who prepared and published this report,” Sağlam said.

HİSADER also stressed that it focused on “anti-narcotics efforts and humanitarian relief,” albeit with a political twist.

“Drugs are a chemical weapon. And our lands are occupied by the Zionist-Crusader,” said the HİSADER board in a recent statement.

Reports claiming that around 3,000 Turkish citizens have joined ISIL militias, who are mainly from Istanbul’s suburbs, have been rejected by the Turkish government.
