According to the decree of President Armen Sarkissian, Karen Grigoryan has been appointed Armenia’s Ambassador to Egypt, the Presidential Office told Armenpress.
The President signed the respective decree based on the prime minister’s proposal.

YEREVAN, JUNE 25, On the RA National Assembly deputy Manvel Grigoryan within the framework of the criminal case under the RA Criminal Code Article 235, part 1, 2 and 179, part 3, point 1 of the RA Special Investigation Service the investigator’s decision, based on the sufficient evidence of evidence, on 22.06.2018, M. Grigoryan’s son, Karen Grigoryan, was involved as an accused under Article 179, part 3, paragraph 1, of the RA Criminal Code.
On 23.06.2018 Karen Grigoryan was charged with the execution of the criminal act, Grigoryan and a number of other individuals, with the prior consent, were stealing property by a large amount of property entrusted to them.
Thus, in order to meet the needs of the servicemen of the Artsakh Republic Defense Army in the April 4th and 4th of April 2016, the members of the “Armenian Community of the Russian Federation” regional non-governmental organization were purchased in Russia in May 2016 and moved to the “UAZ” three vehicles, calibration equipment and military equipment. Then the representatives of the mentioned organization accompanied by Karen Grigoryan left for the Republic of Artsakh where they hand over the above mentioned property to Manvel Grigoryan and to the Defense Army of the Artsakh Republic.
Karen and Manvel Grigoryans, instead of handing over 1,389,000 Russian rubles to the Artsakh Republic Defense Army, with a preliminary agreement with a group of people, robbed them with the “UAZ” brand totaling AMD 10.028.580, storing the Armavir marz in the territory of “Ara and Ajzemnik” OJSC located at 19 Mashtots Street in Echmiadzin city and use it at their discretion for personal needs.
As a precautionary measure against Karen Grigoryan, a signature was chosen – not to leave.
The preliminary investigation is ongoing.
Notification. the suspect in the alleged offense or the accused is considered innocent until his guilt is not proven in the manner prescribed by the Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Armenia by a court verdict entered into force.
