France: Literary Award Charles Aznavour Valerie Toranian

May 23, 2016 By administrator

Aznavor BirthdayMonday, May 23, a special effervescence moderated the County Council to honor Shows Bouches-du-Rhône Marseilles. We had to award the Charles Price Aznavour 2016, as part of the Book Festival Franco-Armenian literary prize awarded to a book on Armenian themes, an initiative of Richard Findykian, Deputy Mayor of the 9th and 10th arrondissements Marseille and Aix Marseille Provence metropolitan Advisor.

They were 5 to apply for this award:

- Hélène Kosseian for “Armenia in the heart of Memory” (Editions du Rocher)
- Valerie Toranian for the “Alien” (Flammarion)
- Michel Marian to “The Armenian Genocide” (Albin Michel)
- Vincent Duclert for “France against the Armenian Genocide” (Fayard)
- and Gaya Guerian for “The Armenian” (XO Editions)

And so it is Valérie Toranian (1), accompanied by Franz-Olivier Giesbert, happy, excited and “overwhelmed by this city of Marseille that greeted his grandmother there almost a hundred years,” which won the majority of votes for publishing 2016 Price Charles Aznavour handed over by the President of the departmental Council of the Bouches-du-Rhône, Martine Vassal, with congratulations from Charles Aznavour who was celebrating his 92th birthday the day before.

Ceremony

Highly anticipated by the 500 people present, Charles Aznavour appeared at 11h 15, hand cane sugar under thunderous applause, before receiving the hands of the president of the County Council, Martine Vassal, the Honorary Medal department, attended by many elected Consul of Armenia in Marseille, Samuel Lalayan, and Guy Teissier MP.

Martine Vassal has paid tribute to the global purveyor of French chanson, while welcoming the Armenian community for its dynamism and condemning, without ambiguity, the Azerbaijani aggression against Nagorno Karabakh in the night of 1 April. So she called France to “ask the independence of Nagorno Karabakh, Armenian and Christian land.”

Charles Aznavour has meanwhile said his “tenderness and nostalgia to this corner of France (Marseille).

Before being awarded the Prix Charles Aznavour, the children of the college hamazkayin interpreted with two French-Armenian singers, Marianne and Frank Neri Ohanessian “They fell” and “For you Armenia”.

n a particularly laudatory speech, not absent from humor, to address the inevitable world-renowned artist, Richard Findykian hailed the exceptional career of the man who is the pride of millions of diaspora Armenians, while touting the taste of Olive oil produced by the artist in his property in Mouriès, near Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, titling it “the Merchant fruit and vegetable Mouriès” A visibly delighted that aside Charles.

In turn, Guy Teissier, unwavering support of the Armenian cause, denounced the Azeri aggression and said it would shortly submit to the National Assembly a motion for the recognition of independence of Nagorno Karabakh. He has also spoken to the recognition by Turkey of the Armenian genocide, not to honor the Turkish intellectuals in their fight alongside the Armenians.

On behalf of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Armenian-French Marseille, Richard Findykian delivers the honorary diplomas to Martine Vassal and Guy Teissier

In this narrative that runs through the century, Valerie Toranian wrote the novel of life, or rather lives of Aravni: the young girl fleeing the Armenian genocide in 1915 until the grandmother also loving qu’intransigeante that she became, she gives her existence impacted by history a universal dimension and honors this grandmother “foreign” to the most beautiful way possible.

France: Sarkozy (LR) of the EU: the worst would Brexit and the accession of Turkey

May 17, 2016 By administrator

arton126526-480x360Paris, May 17, 2016 (AFP) – Nicolas Sarkozy said in an interview published Tuesday on the website of the World, that “the worst” for the European Union “would Brexit and the accession of Turkey,” and advocates a new treaty “which France must be initiated as early as summer 2017”.

“The worst would be the Brexit + + and the accession of Turkey would have made the grand slam of the error! But Brexit + + or not, it will, in all cases, deeply rebuild the European project, and it will pass by a treaty which France must be initiated by the summer of 2017, “said the former president of the Republic.

The issue of maintaining or not the United Kingdom within the bloc of 28 EU countries is subject to referendum June 23. “The debate on Brexit + + is an opportunity to rebuild Europe. I regret that Francois Hollande has not made any proposals upstream, “he told Mr Sarkozy, who also criticized the EU-Turkey agreement on refugees.

“To think that Turkey can sustainably manage and solve these problems is a mistake. Europe can she trust a Turkish power, which evolves more and more towards an authoritarian regime? I dispute it, “he said.

“It is not the fact of having + + hot spots in Turkey that I dispute in the agreement with that country, it is the abolition of visas, irresponsible in the current security climate, and the revival of negotiations membership, incomprehensible, given the evolution of the Turkish power over civil liberties, “insists the President of Republicans (LR).

“I will not criticize Merkel and German politics. But what shocked me is to see Merkel negotiating alone with the Turkish government. Where was Mr. Holland? Where is the voice of France? When Barack Obama came to Europe, he met the Chancellor in Germany, after stopping in the UK. Does France have disappeared from the diplomatic card? What a humiliation! “, Accused Mr. Sarkozy.

France Valérie Boyer: “We must now recognize Nagorno-Karabakh”

April 6, 2016 By administrator

arton124343-480x321In the first night of the April 2, Azerbaijan launched a major military offensive against the Republic of Nagorno Karabakh. This irrational attack occurred while the day before, President Ilham Aliyev gave in Washington fallacious pledges of good will to John Kerry, US Secretary of State.

For the first time since the cease-fire of 1994, the attack of Azerbaijan has mobilized assaults tanks, combat helicopters, drones and even Grad missiles that targeted the cities of Nagorno-Karabakh and caused casualties among civilians, including children. The attack has been contained and even pushed back so that the dictator Baku accepted the principle of a cease-fire that contrasts with his previous statements and martial that sounds like an admission of defeat. With more than 200 dead, about twenty tanks destroyed and no territorial gain, this inept offensive has indeed shown especially military weakness of Azerbaijan.

Murad Papazyan: Political competition observed between Armenian, Turkish communities of France

March 23, 2016 By administrator

f56f2652a0d53b_56f2652a0d55f.thumb”Armenians of France are preparing for the April 24. The events will call for restoration of justice  and restitution, rallies are expected in number of French cities, while the march planned in Paris will be organized along with the Government of  France,” co-Chairman of the Coordination Council of Armenian Organizations of France Murad Papazyan told reporters at a press conference.

Papazyan outlined their main mission to demonstrate to the world that the struggle of the Armenian people does end with Centennial Anniversary of the Genocide and they will continue their activity to address number of other matters.

Papazyan then noted there is a political competition between Armenian and Turkish communities in France.

”Turks are taking up measures to develop relations with the French President. However, François Hollande fully backs the Armenian National Committee, as we have constantly developed out relations with the French President over the last 3-4 years,” the speaker said.

Papazyan assured that the Armenian community of France is powerful and never quits its competition with the Turks. The speaker then reflected on the Azerbaijani lobbing in France carried out through squandering funds to gain success in the political circles.

France: Elective Affinities: Salah Abdeslam and Pierre Loti “Turkish room by Dornac”

March 19, 2016 By administrator

Salah Abdeslam and Pierre Loti, Pierre Loti home in the Turkish room by Dornac

Salah Abdeslam and Pierre Loti, Pierre Loti home in the Turkish room by Dornac

The man believed to be one of the main responsible for the slaughter of 13 November used as a pseudonym the name of Pierre Loti. Many newspapers are questioning the reasons for this choice. Need we recall that in Rochefort writer did not write that “Iceland Fisherman”? Turkophile claimed he was much prevalent at different times of the extermination of the Armenians to plead the cause of the Ottoman Empire, where he led a life of pasha. Many of his writings are openly racist against Armenians, Christians of the Levant, Jews and even the Kurds, they differed from the Turks and he flattered himself that he never defended. Daech line, in short … a good reference for Abdelsam who bought a smart phone in the name of Pierre Loti in the Barbes neighborhood a few hours before participating in attacks that have bloodied the capital. And a deserved promotion for posterity of this writer who left his mark, we see, in the best minds.

France: LR 64 deputies and UDI, led by the Mayor, against any negotiations that could lead to Turkey’s EU membership

March 17, 2016 By administrator

arton123347-480x417Paris, March 17, 2016 (AFP) – LR 64 deputies and UDI, led by Bruno Le Maire (LR), co-signed a motion for a resolution to “oppose any negotiations that could lead to Turkey’s accession to the Union European, “according to a statement Thursday countdown, the day of a crucial European Council.

Noting that “the EU is about to seal a historic agreement with Turkey in making possible new membership in exchange for managing the influx of Syrian refugees,” Mr Le Maire argued that “discussion conditions the agreement directly between Germany and Turkey, have the other Member States with a fait accompli “, including France, a situation” unacceptable and contrary to the very principle of European integration “and the Franco-German base.

The signatories of the text, whose deputies LR Bernard Accoyer, Patrick Devedjian, Christian Estrosi, Marc Le Fur, Lionel Tardy, Thierry Solère or Marie-Jo Zimmerman and IDU Philippe Vigier, François Sauvadet or Maurice Leroy, stressed that the agreement is ” disputed by many leaders of the European Union “but also by the High Commissioner for Human rights of the UN,” which fears collective and arbitrary evictions. “

If Turkey “remains a vital partner as of France that of other member states of the European Union” to the risks of conflicts in the Middle East and the fight against Daech, these elected officials believe that “the cultural, historical, economic and military that unite us should allow us to offer Turkey a specific relationship with the European Union. “

“But the crisis of migrants can not be the pretext for a possible accession of Turkey to the European Union,” according to the presentation of their resolution.

“Convinced of the need for France to take its place within the European Union and refusing it to be reduced to a mere spectator role”, the LR and UDI MEPs want the French government opposes any negotiation could lead to the accession of Turkey but also the EU-Turkey agreement, and that the EU allows “strengthening of genuine partnership” with Ankara.

EU leaders will meet in Brussels on Thursday to finalize a crucial agreement with Turkey, which arouses the hostility of several member states, to stop the flow of migrants to Europe.
