In Baku, Heritage Party leader publicized Armenians’ collective conviction – party MP

November 25, 2012 By administrator

November 24, 2012 | 10:50

YEREVAN. – The diplomacy of independent Armenia should have pushed forward the Armenian people’s collective view a long time ago, and this should have been done especially in Baku, Istanbul, and Ankara. Armenia’s opposition Heritage Party MP Zaruhi Postanjyan stated this on the air of the country’s state-run Public Television, and reflecting on Heritage Chairman Raffi Hovannisian’s statement made in Baku, where he attended and addressed the International Conference of Asian Political Parties (ICAPP).

“He [that is, Hovannisian] made public, for the first time in Baku, the Armenian people’s collective conviction that Artsakh [Nagorno-Karabakh] is an independent republic. Also, he noted that all refugees in the region must be able to return to their places of residence.

Raffi Hovannisian basically announced in Baku that we, as a small country, won the war that was forced upon us. Our small country, with its military force, will be of major importance in this geographical area, and its support by any other country will be in the latter’s interest,” Zaruhi Postanjyan said.

According to Hakobyan Monte used to say: “If we lose Karabakh, then we will turn the final page in the Armenian history.”

Intelligence officer Vova Vardanov said that in the beginning he was reluctant to work with Monte Melkonian, as he adhered to the opinion that an Armenian from Diaspora should not be engaged in the intelligence. Mexico Panel Rejects Azerbaijan Statue

November 23, 2012 By administrator

MEXICO CITY November 23, 2012 (AP)

A commission of experts says Mexico City’s government should remove a life-size statue of Azerbaijan’s former president that was recently erected on the city’s main boulevard.

The bronze, Stalinesque statue of Geidar Aliyev was erected by the Azerbaijan embassy, which paid for the renovation of part of the city park where it sits.

Protesters have said they are offended by a monument to an authoritarian figure like Aliyev, who led Azerbaijan first as Communist Party boss during Soviet times and then as president from 1993 to his death in 2003.

Azerbaijan officials have said that removal of the statue could affect diplomatic relations with Mexico.

The committee that reported on Friday had been named by city officials to seek a solution.

Iranian Foreign Minister: Right of peoples to self-determination should be respected

November 23, 2012 By administrator

The vital right of peoples to self-determination should be respected, Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi stated during the ministerial meeting of D-8 Economic Cooperation Organization in Pakistan, Iranian Foreign Ministry’s official website said.

The Iranian FM, slamming the use of dual standards towards human rights in many countries, said, in part, “Democracy does not belong to some country or region and therefore the right of peoples to self-determination and their right to master their own fate is of vital importance. All efforts, which are aimed at overthrowing the order established by peoples on the basis of Constitution and democracy, should be rejected.”

The D-8 comprises Iran, Turkey, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Malaysia, Egypt and Nigeria.

The modern phase of the Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) conflict broke out in 1988, when, as a response to the peaceful demand for self-determination of the people of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh), annexed to Soviet Azerbaijan in 1921, the Azerbaijani authorities carried out ethnic cleansing of Armenians – at first in the big cities of Azerbaijan, and then in Artsakh.
In September 1991 Artsakh declared independence, and, as a result, Azerbaijan exacerbated the violences and started large-scale military actions against Artsakh. After number of defeats on the frontlines, in May 1994 Azerbaijan was forced ask for a cease-fire from the Republic of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh Republic).

Currently, the negotiations on the settlement of the conflict are being conducted under the mediation of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs (Russia, USA and France), based on the Madrid proposals, presented in November 2007.

Listen to Azerbaijani dictator hatred language “Armenian lobby is our main enemy”

November 19, 2012 By administrator

Read Azerbaijani dictator hatred language against Armenian.. Only dictators can use this kind of language..

13:57, November 19, 2012

On November 16, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev hosted a reception in Baku marking the 20th anniversary of the ruling New Azerbaijan Party (YAP).

President Aliyev, who also serves as the chairman of YAP, made the following comments regarding the “Armenian lobby” and Islamophobia in his address according to News.Az.

I have repeatedly said and I want to repeat it in the open that the Armenian lobby is our enemy. This is because Armenia, as a country, is of no importance. In fact, it is a colony, an outpost; a territory governed from abroad which was artificially created in ancient Azerbaijani lands. The Armenian lobby is our main enemy and we are the main enemy for them. In fact, the source of our enmity with them is their enmity with us. Second is anti-Azerbaijani center, structures and circles infected with Islamophobia. Unfortunately, their number is growing all the time.

The growth in their number was manifested during the elections held in some countries. The results of elections make the growth of the rating of Islamophobia forces clear. The young, dynamically developing, independent and modern Muslim country- Azerbaijan – has become a problem for them since it does not fit their stereotypes. Their stereotypes seek to show Muslims in the world as a backward nation and people.

PanARMENIAN.Net – About 20 people were detained in Baku on Saturday when police dispersed an unauthorized opposition rally in Azerbaijan’s capital calling for the dissolution of parliament, RIA Novosti reported.

The rally, organized by the youth wings of the Musavat and the Popular Front opposition parties, chanted slogans: “Resign!” and “Freedom!”

The protests are linked to a video released in late September, purportedly showing a ruling-party MP offering a seat in parliament in return for a $1 million bribe.

The Baku City Prosecutor’s Office has launched criminal proceedings into the case on “fraud” charges.

The first protest rally was held on October 20, when about 40 opposition activists were detained.

Bulgarian Nationalists Boycott Turkish Defense Minister Visit

November 16, 2012 By administrator

November 16, 2012, Friday By: novinite.com

Bulgaria‘s far-right, nationalist Ataka party staged a protest rally Friday against the visit of Turkish Defense Minister, Ismet Yilmaz, to Sofia.

The Turkish Minister, however, was met with honors by his Bulgarian counterpart, Anyu Angelov and three companies – from the land force, the air force and the navy. “The relations between Bulgaria and Turkey are an example of good partnership between neighbors and allies in NATO,” said Angelov during his meeting with Yilmaz. The two discussed matters of cooperation in the defense sector.

They also laid wreaths at the Unknown Soldier monument.

Meanwhile, Ataka leaders and followers were seen in the vicinity of the monument, holding signs such as “We cannot be brothers in arms with those who massacred Bulgarians for five centuries,” “Turkey Owes Us USD 10 B for Properties in Thrace,” and “Boyko, Don’t Lead Us to War with Erdogan.”

The rally was attended by Ataka leader, Volen Siderov, and Ataka Members of the Parliament, Pavel Shopov, Desisilav Choukolov, and Ventsislav Lakov.

Siderov complained of the strong police presence, saying it was a disgrace and a violation of the rights of the MPs. He reminded that every time a Turkish official is visiting Bulgaria his party was the only one to voice the truth that Turkey is indebted to Bulgaria.

“We represent the position of hundreds of thousands of Bulgarians who voted for us. There is no difference between the ruling Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria party, GERB, and the ethnic Turkish Movement for Rights and Freedoms, DPS. Both work not for Bulgarian, but for Turkish interests,” the nationalist leader concluded.
