YEREVAN. – Iraq’s Ambassador to Armenia Gazi Tahir Khaled met with Yеzidis who staged a protest action near the embassy in Yerevan on Friday.

Yazidis are protesting against massacres of their compatriots in Iraq, the Armenian News-NEWS.am correspondent reports.

However, the diplomat said Iraqi government is hardly able to help them.

“The war provoked by terrorists is going on across the country. Nevertheless, I will convey your demand to the government of Iraq,” he told protesters who were asking the Iraqi government for at least humanitarian assistance.

After the meeting, protester headed to the U.S. Embassy threatening to block the road unless ambassador agrees to meet with them.
