Kurdish forces PKK have wounded 12 Turkish security officials in bomb attack in Turkey’s southeast

PKK wonded turkish soldier A total of 12 security officials were wounded in a bomb attack by the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) in the Nusaybin district of the southeastern province of Mardin on June 1.

Two police officers and 10 soldiers were wounded when PKK detonated a bomb they had hidden in Nusaybin, where a curfew has been in force since March 14.

The wounded security officials were taken to Nusaybin State Hospital, where the treatment of five officials, including one in critical condition, was continuing.

Seven security officials received ambulatory treatment.

Security operations in the district were ongoing.

Serviceman Hovhannes Poghosyan wonded in Artsakh underwent surgery, he is in critical condition, Zorik Saghyan says

Saghyan said that the serviceman underwent surgery and is in the intensive care unit. Hovhannes Poghosyan, 21 was wounded on the brain.

“The soldier will be moved to Yerevan when his condition improves,” Saghyan said.

To remind, from afternoon May 13 till the night of May 14 tensions maintained on the Line of Contact between Nagorno Karabakh and Azerbaijan, NKR Defense Army reports.

According to the source, the adversary continued violating the arrangement to cease the fire using 60 mm (53 shells), 82 mm (142 shells) mortars, AGS-17 (30 shells), RPG-7 type (2 shells) grenade launchers as well as ZU-23-2 anti-aircraft auto cannon (30 shots).

In the result of the Azerbaijani violation of the ceasefire arrangement, Karabakh servicemen Hovhannes Eduard Poghosyan, 1995, received gunshot wound in the combat position of the Defense Army military unit located in northern direction.

NKR defense Army Advanced Detachment took up retaliatory actions and suppressed the adversary’s activity.

No safe place left for Syrian refugees in Turkey’s southeast, wound 3

A group of locals in Turkey’s southeastern province of Şanlıurfa have attacked Syrian refugees in their neighborhood on Sunday, injuring three of them; 10 assailants were consequently detained by the police.

According to Cihan news agency, the suspects organized the attack via social media several days before the incident under the cover of a call for a rally titled “We don’t want Syrians.” The planned rally could not be held after Şanlıurfa Governor İzzettin Küçük issued a statement last week banning such an event.

The police took strict security measures around Topçu Square, where the rally was scheduled to take place on Sunday. However, around 20 people who gathered to attend the event attacked a group of Syrians outside of a plaza.

The assailants injured one of the Syrians in the leg with a knife. Two other Syrians were beaten up by the same group. The three Syrians fled the scene and took shelter at local stores. The police arrived the neighborhood and an ambulance was called for the injured Syrians.
