Armenia won 6 medals at the 29th Summer Universiade in Taipei (Taiwan). Armenia with 3 gold, 1 silver and 2 bronze medals. A record for Armenia at the Universiade. 16 Armenian athletes were engaged in 7 sports disciplines at these Universiade of Taipei. With these 7 medals, Armenia finished in 24th place overall medal table at the Universiade of Taipei out of 144 participating nations. Simon Martirosyan (weightlifting), Gor Minasyan (weightlifting) and Artur Tovmasyan (sports gymnastics) won gold under Armenian colors. Antranik Karapetyan (weightlifting) took the silver medal and Serguei Vartazaryan (taekwondo) and Karapet Tevosyan (ushu) won the bronze medals.
