Water supply has been partially restored in Aleppo after a long time, Eragoyn news website reported. It has also been restored in the Armenian-populated districts of Nor Gyugh, Villaner and Suleymaniye.
According to the source, the government does its utmost to return the city to normal life. Water supply will be restored gradually, but there is still no electricity in the city.
Al-Khabar reported that at least 90 rebel fighters were killed in clashes with Syrian government forces near Aleppo International Airport. It added that the authorities of Aleppo are working to restore the city’s power supply, which was cut off after the power generating station was damaged by a rocket attack on Thursday.
Syria’s turmoil began with protests against President Bashar al-Assad’s regime in March 2011. It crossed an important threshold a year and a half later, when the international Red Cross formally declared it a civil war. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights says that more than 41,000 civilians — including 6,000 children and 4,000 women — have been killed during the two-and-a-half-year conflict. About 41,000 fighters loyal to the government have died, and rebel fighters make up about 23,000 of the dead.
