Nikol Pashinyan urges to stop protest actions in Stepanakert

Nikol Pashinyan urges to stop protest actions in Stepanakert

YEREVAN, JUNE 4, Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan touched upon the situation in Artsakh where rallies took place for several days due to the scandalous involvement of the security forces. As Armenpress reports, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia stated on Facebook during the live broadcast that there is no doubt that the behavior of representatives of the power structures is causing anxiety. “It is unacceptable for any attempt to solve the problem violently, no matter who it is. Of course, this situation should be solved very specifically and bring concrete conclusions and conclusions. I closely follow the developments in Artsakh. During this period, I have always been in touch with Artsakh President Bako Sahakyan. I am pleased to note that the President of Artsakh has met several times with the representatives of the demonstrators and reached concrete agreements, “Pashinyan stressed, as reported by Armenpress.

He added that the President of Artsakh stated that he is going to implement those agreements, carry out a full and complete investigation, and also make organizational conclusions. “During the meeting of the representatives of the demonstrators and the President of Artsakh, a mutual understanding on the direction and logic of future events has been achieved. And now, in essence, I think that there is a stage in which our respected demonstrators should allow the Artsakh President to implement those agreements. It is obvious and understandable that these arrangements should be carried out in a calm, non-nervous environment, and this continuing situation, the purpose of which is to make certain personnel and organizational conclusions, essentially it hampers the development of further processes, ” the Prime Minister.

Nikol Pashinyan expressed an opinion that it would be right if demonstrators now have the opportunity to realize the agreements reached during the recent meetings. “And if in the course of the events, the arrangements are not implemented, there are no conclusions, only then it will make sense to continue any protest action. The Artsakh authorities today state that they find it very logical to draw conclusions from this situation, and the logic of these conclusions seems to have been reached between the demonstrators and the authorities. Every day, several times I learn about the situation and this awareness allows me to urge our beloved demonstrators to stop the demonstration and allow the Artsakh authorities to realize the agreements reached between the demonstrators and the authorities. In his conversation with me, the President of Artsakh reaffirmed his commitment to implement those agreements, and in this case it is necessary to give that opportunity, “said the Prime Minister of Armenia.

Pashinyan did not want to go into details, to evaluate what happened because in this situation it is more important that the problem be resolved not in conflict, but in an atmosphere of agreement.

Iran Temporary Bans Its Companies Transporting Petroleum From Iraqi Kurdistan

September 29, 2017 By administrator

Despite claims to stay ‘eternal friend of Kurds’, Iran reportedly temporary banned its companies transporting petroleum products from Iraqi Kurdistan.

Earlier in the week, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif stated that Iran would remain an eternal friend of Kurds despite their recent vote to split from Iraq.

Iran is the only country with a large proportion of Kurdish population which manages to cultivate decent relations with them. With Iraqi Kurds Tehran has a long-standing relationship which has deepened after 2014 when Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps started to back Kurdish Peshmerga’s efforts to counter Daesh.

Zarif predicted the Monday referendum, in which 92 percent of 3.4 million people in northern Iraq’s three main Kurdish provinces and in multi-ethnic Kirkuk region voted to have a separate nation state, would have consequences that would not be limited to Iraqi Kurdistan.

Iran and Turkey criticized the referendum amid fears it might strengthen separatist feelings in their own ethnic Kurdish minorities. The United Nations and the United States also decried the Iraqi Kurdish authorities for potentially destabilizing the region. Baghdad has called the vote illegal and has refused to engage in a dialogue with Kurdish leaders.

Two German ministers want to attack Erdogan propaganda

August 23, 2017 By administrator

German Foreign Ministers and Justice on Tuesday called for a stronger control of the mosques that relay the “propaganda” of the Turkish president, the latest episode of a German-Turkish crisis that has worsened for months.

Earlier, German diplomacy chief Sigmar Gabriel accused Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s supporters of harassing his wife.

“We have to be careful that the Muslim communities of Germany do not fall under the influence of President Erdogan,” foreign ministers Sigmar Gabriel and Justice Heiko Maas write in a rostrum at the Spiegel.

“In no case can we tolerate parallel societies or even counter-companies,” the two ministers added. “Nor should we underestimate the dangers that emanate from the Erdogan state organizations in Germany,” according to the two Social Democratic leaders who want Germany to “protect people who protest against cultural warfare And the propaganda of Erdogan “.

The appeal came after Erdogan urged the German Turks not to vote for three of the major parties in the 24 September parliamentary elections, including the SPD and the Christian Democratic Union (CDU), “Enemies” of Turkey.

Germany is home to the largest Turkish diaspora in the world, with some 3 million people. Many of their mosques or religious communities are directly managed by the Turkish Ministry of Religious Affairs through its organization, the Ditib, which sends imams to Germany.

In particular since Turkey’s failed coup in Turkey in July 2016, Turkish associations have been accused of relaying Erdogan’s increasingly aggressive policy towards German leaders.

A case of espionage by an imam of the Ditib shook the community and pushed Berlin to harden the tone.

The head of the German diplomacy also accused Tuesday of supporters of the Turkish government for threatening his wife because they felt encouraged by aggressive prominences of Mr. Erdogan.

The Social Democratic candidate in the chancellery, Martin Schulz, accuses the Turkish leader of “using the language of a brute counter instead of that of a head of state”.

Recep Tayyip Erdogan multiplied the invective towards the German politicians, directly attacking Mr. Gabriel.

Trott and Pallone lead congressional letter to stop controversial gun sale to Turkey

June 30, 2017 By administrator

turkey, gun saleWASHINGTON, DC – Congressional Armenian Caucus Co-Chairs Dave Trott (R-MI) and Frank Pallone (D-NJ) were joined by House Intelligence Committee Chairman and Ranking Member Devin Nunes (R-CA) and Adam Schiff (D-CA), Ranking Member Eliot Engel (D-NY) and key leaders of House Foreign Affairs Committee in calling on the State Department to reject the pending sale of semi-automatic guns for use by Turkish President Recep Erdogan’s security detail, reported the Armenian National Committee of America (ANCA).

“We greatly appreciate the bipartisan leadership of Representatives Trott, Pallone and their Armenian Caucus colleagues against the controversial sale of U.S. handguns to the very same armed Erdogan security detail that, on this dictator’s direct command, attacked Americans exercising our Constitutional rights at the peaceful May 16th protest organized in Washington, DC by the ANCA and our coalition partners,” said ANCA Executive Director Aram Hamparian.  “Erdogan and his henchmen should be brought to justice for their crimes, not rewarded with American weaponry.”

Rep. Trott explained, “Right here, on U.S. soil, we witnessed President Erdogan’s blatant disregard for democracy as his henchmen waged a brutal attack on peaceful protestors.  As the very model of freedom and liberty around the world, the United States cannot condone such an overt suppression of democracy and this proposed arms deal would be nothing less than an endorsement of Erdogan’s henchmen’s brutal attack. We need to call out and hold accountable President Erdogan and his bodyguards for who they really are – thugs.”

The Trott-Pallone letter states that “We can no longer enable Turkey to compromise our democratic values, and this proposed arms sale is nothing short of an endorsement of the actions of President Erdogan’s security force. As such, we strongly urge you to reject this proposed sale and any potential weapons transfer to President Erdogan’s security detail.”

Moscow urges Turkey to stop ‘meddling in neighbors’ affairs’ Syria & Karabakh

April 4, 2016 By administrator

b5c5f8f3-0adf-43b7-bdb8-9ae061dc76c5Russia’s foreign minister has urged Turkey to stop what he called interfering in the internal affairs of other countries and end support for terrorism.

“In general, it is important for our Turkish neighbors right now to aim at ending their meddling in the internal affairs of other states, be it Iraq or Syria,” Sergei Lavrov said.

He made the remarks during a joint press conference with his Moldovan counterpart Andrei Galbur in Moscow on Monday.

“There are enough facts and evidence that Turkey continues this interference and supports terrorism,” he added.

Ankara is widely believed to be the key conduit for armed militants slipping into Syria to join the foreign-backed militancy aimed at toppling the Damascus government.

Earlier this month, Russian Ambassador to the UN Vitaly Churkin said that purported evidence showed Ankara transferred arms and military hardware to the Daesh terrorist group in Syria under the cover of air convoys.

In February, the Russian Foreign Ministry also said that Ankara has been helping militants enter Syria illegally and join the terrorist groups that are fighting against the government of President Bashar al-Assad.

Turkey also stands accused of buying oil from Daesh. Russia has released satellite images, apparently showing long lines of trucks carrying oil from Daesh-controlled areas in northeastern Syria into Turkey.

Fighting over Karabakh

Also on Monday, Lavrov referred to the recent clashes between Azerbaijan and Armenia in the disputed border region of Karabakh, saying Ankara was “one-sided” in supporting its ally, Baku, in the fighting.

On Sunday, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan pledged his support for Azerbaijan, saying, “We pray our Azerbaijani brothers will prevail in these clashes with the least casualties.”

The fighting between the two countries erupted last Friday, leaving at least 33 troops and two civilians dead.

Syrian Christian Leader Tells West: ‘Stop Arming Terror Groups Who Are Massacring Our People’

October 11, 2015 By administrator

Middle-east christiansIn a July interview, The Patriarch of Antioch, Moran Mor Ignatius Aphrem II, called on the West to “stop arming and supporting terrorist groups that are destroying our countries and massacring our people.” The Syrian Christian leader added that “state institutions need to be strengthened and stabilised. Instead, what we see is their forced dismemberment being fuelled from the outside.”

The Patriarch also recounted a meeting he had with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad:

Along with bishops of his church he recently had talks with President Assad of Syria. “President Assad urged us to do everything in our hands to prevent Christians from leaving Syria. ‘I know you are suffering,’ he said, ‘but please don’t leave this land, which has been your home for thousands of years, even before Islam came.’ He said that Christians will also be needed when the time comes to rebuild this devastated country.”

He said the majority of Syrian citizens support Assad’s government and have always supported it.

“We recognise legitimate rulers and pray for them, as the New Testament teaches us. We also see that on the other side there is no democratic opposition, only extremist groups. Above all, we see that in the past few years, these groups have been basing their actions on an ideology that comes from the outside, brought here by preachers of hatred who have come from and are backed by Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Egypt. These groups receive arms through Turkey too, as the media have shown us.”
Not only is the West attempting to destroy the last secular nation in the Middle East, it’s also giving weapons to Christian-killing fanatics. A sound foreign policy.

Turkey blocks access to Twitter to stop users from calling for protests against the government

July 22, 2015 By administrator

195134Turkey has blocked access to Twitter to prevent the broadcast of images of the bombing in southeast Turkey that killed 32 people, the state-run Anadolu Agency said Wednesday, July 22, according to the Associated Press.

The government was also trying to block Twitter users from calling for protests against the government for not doing more to prevent the bombing, the agency said.

Officials had raised concerns that the bombing in the town of Suruc is part of a campaign of retaliation by the Islamic State group for a recent crackdown on its operations in the country.

Turkish officials say they have detained more than 500 people suspected of working with IS in the last six months. Officials say an operation this month netted 21 terrorism suspects in an investigation of recruitment networks in multiple parts of the country.

Protests have erupted in Istanbul and other cities since the bombings, with demonstrators shouting slogans blaming the government for the attack. On Tuesday, police detained some 30 people before they could march to a local ruling party office in Istanbul. Protesters also threw fireworks as police officers attempted to disperse the crowd at another protest in the city.

Earlier, a court in Suruc issued a ban on the publication of images related to the bombing in the media, including the Internet and social media platforms, and ruled that access be barred to Internet sites that do not comply with the ban, the Anadolu Agency reported.

A government official said Turkey had asked Twitter to remove 107 URLs with images of the aftermath of the bombing. Twitter had removed some 50 of the URLs and was working to remove the remaining problematic URLs.

The official said he expected the URLs to be removed soon and for the access to be restored. The official spoke on condition of anonymity because of rules that bar officials from speaking to journalists without authorization.

Turkey has periodically blocked social media in the past, the AP reminds. Earlier this year the government ordered a temporary block on Twitter and YouTube during a hostage crisis in an Istanbul courthouse. Those sites were also blocked last year after audio recordings of a secret security meeting or tapes suggesting corruption by government officials were leaked on the social media sites. Turkey’s highest court, however, overturned those bans, deeming them to be unconstitutional.

Previous moves by Turkish authorities to block the social media networks have provoked widespread criticism by Western governments and human rights organizations.

PETITION: Stop University of Toronto from giving a podium to Genocide Deniers Justin McCarthy and Bruce Fein

February 25, 2015 By administrator

Turkish multi million $$ Lobbyist "STOP-NOW"

Turkish multi million $$ Lobbyist “STOP-NOW”

We would like to bring to your attention an event taking place at the University of Toronto which should be cause for concern to the student body as it threatens the integrity of this Canadian institution.

In line with Turkish President Erdogan’s numerous calls to its embassies to actively challenge Armenian Genocide recognition and commemoration in light of its 100th anniversary, on February 27, the Federation of Canadian Turkish Associations has invited infamous genocide deniers Justin McCarthy and Bruce Fein to be the keynote speakers at an event titled “WWI 100th Anniversary-Human Suffering in Eastern Anatolia”. The event will take place at the University of Toronto’s University College. At a time when the world will be commemorating the 100th Anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, events of this sort attempt to trivialize the issue through denialist claims. According to genocide scholar Gregory Stanton denial is considered the 10th and last stage of genocide. As in the past, McCarthy and Fein are once again on tour to parrot the Turkish Government’s propaganda and denial which amounts to hate-speech and is considered to be the perpetuation of the cycle of genocide.

In commenting about the denial of the Armenian Genocide writer and Holocaust survivor Elie Wiesel has said “Genocide kills twice, the second time by silence.”

Please sign the petition below to voice your concern to the University of Toronto president and leadership. Let us stand together against genocide denial. visit http://www.ayfcanada.org and sign petition

Stop the University of Toronto from giving a podium to genocide deniers!

If you are a current University of Toronto student or alumni, please give the U of T President’s office (416-978-4163) and University College Principal (416 978-7516) a call to voice your concern.
