On December 6-12, the Azerbaijani side violated the ceasefire about 1,400 times on the line of contact between the armed forces of Karabakh and Azerbaijan, according to the press service of Ministry of Defense (MoD) of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic.
During that period Azerbaijani frontline units fired over 15,000 shots at Armenian positions from small arms of various calibers, 60mm, 80mm and 120mm mortars, and RPG-7 and AGS-17 grenade launchers. Besides, Azerbaijan used Turkish-made TR-107 rocket launcher and a Zu-23-2 anti-aircraft gun.
On December 8 Azerbaijan used a tank for the first time since the ceasefire to shell positions of Karabakh’s Defense Army in the southern direction of the line of contact.
Considering the existing situation, the frontline units of NKR Defense Army took retaliatory actions to suppress the enemy’s offensive activity and destroyed a number of important military targets of Azerbaijan near the frontline.
