A group of students from Boğaziçi University in Istanbul, Turkey, have entered the hall where an Armenian Genocide denial event was underway, and they protested the denial of this genocide. The students also read a statement, reported Etkin news agency of Turkey.
In their announcement, the students stressed that, 100 years ago, Armenians used to celebrate Christmas in Malatya, Kayseri, Konya, Mardin, and elsewhere in Turkey, but now this nation, which lived in these lands for 4,000 years, is no more.
After their statement, the students chanted slogans, “Not deportation, [but] genocide” and “Face [the murder of] Hrant [i.e. journalist Hrant Dink, the founder and chief editor of Agos Armenian bilingual weekly of Istanbul, who was shot dead on January 19, 2007 outside the office of his weekly], [and] the genocide,” and left.
