The first Armenian production of buckwheat under the Nor Hatik label will be sold on the Armenian market in a few days. The Bavra buckwheat processing plant was made possible thanks to the Hayastan Fund and the European Neighborhood Program for Agriculture and Rural Development (ENPARD), with financial support from the Devecyan, Ekserciyan and Simsiroglu families.
A Tatra truck production factory will be built in Armenia’s Kotayk province, according to a memorandum signed between Tatra Trucks and Zenon LLC, a top official from Gazprom Armenia said.
Andranik Harutyunyan said the deal is the result of an agreement reached between prime minister Karen Karapetyan and Russia-based Armenian business people.
2000 new jobs will be created by the end of the project.

Tatra is a Czech manufacturer producing vehicles. Owned by the Tatra Truck company, it is the second oldest company in the world producing cars with an unbroken history, after Peugeot.
Iran’s major car manufacturer Iran Khodro and French car manufacturer Peugeot-Citroen (PSA) agreed to launch a joint company in Tehran for car production, Xinhua News reports, citing Tasnim news agency.
The 50-50 joint venture, if finalized, would be worth 400 million euros, the report said.
The company to be established will manufacture the Peugeot 208, the 2008 Sport Utility Vehicle, as well as the 301 compact.
Thirty percent of the cars which are to be jointly produced, will be exported to the Middle East and other countries, Iran Khodro’s Chief Executive Officer, Hashem Yeke Zareh, was quoted as saying.
Owing to the U.S.-led sanctions against Iran regarding the latter’s disputed nuclear issue, PSA had left Iran in 2012.
