In the wake of the past days’ subversion attempts by the Azerbaijani armed forces, Armenia’s Ministry of Defense has elaborated procedures to boost border control, Tert.am reports.
The document, a seven-clause order calling for increased vigilance, was introduced by Minister Seyran Ohanyan at a working meeting in Yerevan on Monday, Jan 12.
“It is necessary to ensure an enhanced military vigilance and to improve monitoring system; we have to fight against subversive intelligence operations and conduct trainings to raise the efficiency of all subdivisions. We have to enforce punishment against the adversary and if, necessary, initiate preemptive measures, without waiting for the adversary to act first. We must always have the plan of counteractions and punitive measures at our hand,” he noted.
The Minister noted that commands of battalions and companies will be given freedom to take independent actions to avert aggression after studying the adversary’s strengths and weaknesses and the directions of possible attacks.
