Istanbul Armenian journalist Hayko Baghdad filed a lawsuit against Mayor of Ankara Melih Gökçek, who considered the word “Armenian” as a offense.

According to the claim against the Mayor of Ankara, the mayor’s statement incites hatred to Armenians and is an offense, Istanbul-based Armenian “Agos” newspaper reports.

Back in March 2015, Hayko Baghdad wrote in Twitter on one occasion: “The capital has passed into the hands of Armenian. My condolences.” Following this Mayor of Ankara issued a statement in which he considered being called an “Armenian” as an offense.
