Gerorgia: Massive clashes between Georgians and Azeris in Kvemo Kartli

Georgia recorded numerous tensions between Azeris and Georgians over the last few days. According to the site Azeri Haqqin.az there two days in the region Kartaban arton100316-338x254(Georgia), clashes between Azeris and Georgians youth turned into a brawl with the involvement of hundreds of people. According to the Azerbaijani Ramin Bayramov, an official of the Unified National Movement, four of its activists were attacked by Georgians.

First in the street and near a tea room in the center of the city. Azeris have called the police, but soon more than a hundred people armed with swords rushed to the scene. Azeris, members of the Unified National Movement also came as reinforcements. Quickly about 200 people clashed. To stop the violence, the police had to fire warning shots in the air to stop the brawl. According to the authorities of the city, these clashes are on policy substance and does not have an ethnic origin. May 29 to protest against the violence, nearly 300 Azerbaijanis took to the streets of the city. Georgians are also down by hundreds. Clashes have again occurred between the two groups. The Prefect of the Kvemo Kartli got there, promised to personally lead negotiations between both parties in order to ease the tension.
