Irma is the ninth ‘named’ storm of the 2017 hurricane season
Just as the United States is starting to pick up the pieces after Hurricane Harvey – more ominous weather is on its way.
Tropical storm Irma has become the ninth ‘named’ storm of the 2017 hurricane season.
At the moment it is far out in the Atlantic, near the Cape Verde islands.
It has maximum sustained winds of around 60 mph, but is expected to keep tracking west and build into a hurricane by Thursday or Friday.
Weather experts say it is too early to tell whether it will have any affect on the US.
