Preparations for the visit of François Hollande in Armenia in May, were discussed at a meeting between the Minister of Foreign Affairs Edward Nalbandian with his French counterpart Laurent Fabius, yesterday March 13 in Paris.
At the meeting, the parties welcomed the high level of bilateral relations, focusing on the prospects for economic cooperation. Nalbandian also noted that nearly 160 French companies currently operating in Armenia. In this context, he welcomed the growth of French investments in the country.
EU-Armenia cooperation in resolving the Nagorno-Karabakh was also discussed. The Foreign Minister reiterated the willingness of Armenia to continue efforts for a peaceful settlement, together with the co-chairs of the Minsk Group.
President Holland should, during this trip officially announce, as noted above, the initiation of the bill criminalizing denial of the Armenian genocide.
