May 14, 2018 By administrator

YEREVAN, MAY 14, ARMENPRESS. The Eurasian Economic Union successfully develops partnership with other countries and unions, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced during the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council session.

“FTA with Vietnam operates successfully. A trade and economic agreement with China is planned to be signed this week in Astana, as well as a temporary agreement with Iran on creating free trade zone. In the future similar negotiations are scheduled with Egypt and India”, ARMENPRESS reports the Russian President as saying.

According to him, the priority issues of the integration structure are increasing the efficiency of the single markets, the harmonization of national legislations in different spheres, the elimination of restrictions on the free movement of goods, services, capital, labor, creating more favorable conditions for the development of entrepreneurial activity.

“In general, the Eurasian Economic Union develops rather dynamically. Armenia has the best industrial indicators in EAEU

September 23, 2015 By administrator

industrial-outputYEREVAN. – According to the official data, the domestic industry of Armenia is “prospering.” Pursuant to the preliminary data, the rise in the physical volume of industrial production came closer to a double figure – 9,7% at an annual rate. Of course, this indicator constituted “modest” 4,4% for January-August. But in the current conditions, even that number can be considered an apparent achievement.

The Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) partners of Armenia are far from doing well in this sphere. Thus, the physical volume of industrial production in Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan has reduced by 3,2%, 7,1% and 0,6% respectively.

In January-July, the total volume of Armenia’s industrial production increased by 4,1% at an annual rate. This was mainly brought along by a significant growth of metallic ore extraction (35,3%). Consequently, the share of this sector in the total amount of industrial production of the republic grew by 1,9 percentage points, reaching 7,4%.

Together with this, the monthly dynamics of foreign trade is characterized by significant instability. Consequently, export of goods in January-August increased by 0,5%, while the import decreased by 26,3%.

In addition, the mayor of Moscow has agreed to extend the functioning of the open market until the end of October.

Furthermore, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev had visited the Armenian pavilions and stated that it would be desirable to see more Armenian goods in the Russian market.

Manaseryan: Armenia and Georgia can greatly benefit from accession to EaEU and EU

August 25, 2014 By administrator

The mutually beneficial economic ties between Armenia and Georgia have not been realized completely in the recent years, economist Tatul Manaseryan told reporters on EU-EaEUMonday, adding that Armenia should enhance relations with Georgia since “we are doomed to close cooperation with Georgia.”

According to the economist, Armenia’s and Georgia’s accession to the Eurasian Economic Union (EaEU) and the European Union (EU) respectively should be viewed as mutually complementary factors.

“We together with the Georgians can greatly benefit from accession to both unions, especially given that Armenia does not rule out European integration,” he noted.

Chairman of the Republican Union of Employers of Armenia Gagik Makaryan said for his part that it is difficult to judge about the real amounts of imports into Armenia from Georgia as many goods imported from Georgia are produced in Turkey.
