The Armenian embassy in the United States in a tweet on Monday, September 4 called for donations to help save St. Kevork Armenian church in Houston, Texas after Hurricane Harvey hit the United States.
Houston sits just under 50 feet above sea level and is among the flattest major metropolitan areas in the U.S. It was greatly affected from the hurricane which inundated hundreds of thousands of homes, displaced more than 30,000 people, and prompted more than 17,000 rescues.
According to the embassy, donations can made to the the Eastern Diocese of the Armenian Church of America and online towards the Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund for the Greater Houston Area Armenian Community.
100% of donations here will go to support our community needs.
As reported earlier, the Armenian Relief Society of Eastern USA has also joined the relief effort aimed at help those affected by the disaster.
