STEPANAKERT. – Nagorno-Karabakh Republic—or Artsakh—National Assembly (NKR NA) Speaker Ashot Ghulyan on Sunday received Canadian Member of Parliament Stéphane Dion, informs the NKR NA press service.
“It is nice to meet with an influential Canadian parliament figure that played a key role in the Armenian Genocide’s recognition by the federal legislative body [of Canada],” Ghulyan said.
He underscored that the MPs from numerous countries need to be informed about Artsakh by seeing the situation firsthand.
“At the same time, such contacts will become a promising prerequisite for establishing ties between our two parliaments,” the NKR NA head stated.
Noting that it is a great honor for him to be in Nagorno-Karabakh, Dion informed that his trip to Artsakh is a study visit.
“I would like to learn more about your country and people, in order to tell my colleagues about the information I receive here,” the Canadian MP noted.
Stéphane Dion was interested in everything about Artsakh, and Ashot Ghulyan gave relevant explanations.
