An Air France flight bound from Paris to Los Angeles made an emergency landing after one of its four engines suffered “serious damage,” the airline said.
Flight AF 066 was diverted to Goose Bay Airport on Canada’s east coast, where it landed safely Saturday, the airline said in a statement. No injuries were reported.
“The regularly trained pilots and cabin crew handled this serious incident perfectly,” the statement said. “The passengers are currently being assisted by teams dispatched to the location.”
The airline said it is working to reroute the passengers to Los Angeles.
Daniel McNeely, who said he is one of the passengers, tweeted that mayday was declared while the air craft was flying over the North Atlantic Ocean.
