Armenia and Azerbaijan have, for the first time ever, reached a common ground over Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh), Azerbaijan’s foreign minister on Tuesday, summing up his talks the foreign minister of Armenia.
Commenting on the meeting with Zohrab Mnatsakanyan in Milan, Italy, Elmar Mammadyarov also affirmed a mutual commitment to seek ways towards reaching a final breakthrough.
“I think that at the meeting with my Armenian counterpart in Milan, we reached a mutual understanding for the first time ever, something we hadn’t managed for such a long time. We will be seeking ways towards resolving this conflict,” Trend News agency quotes him as saying at a special reception with representatives of the diplomatic corps.
Expressing his country’s support to a peaceful settlement scenario, Mammadyarov added that the issue will dominate their foreign policy agenda also in 2019.
