The 59th edition of the Eurovision recently held in Copenhagen (Denmark) with 26 countries involved in the final. Armenia Aram MP3 which was a favorite of Eurovision Song Contest 2014 with the song “Not Alone” is ranked fourth with 176 points. The competition was won by Conchita Wurst for Austria (290 points) to the Netherlands (238) and Sweden (218).
France, Austria and Georgia gave 12 points to Armenia. Belarus, Latvia and Montenegro offered 10 points to Armenia, Macedonia and Russia gave 8 points to Armenia (and 12 points to Azerbaijan has however finished bottom of the table to 21st with only 33 points). Greece, Hungary and Romania 7 points to Armenia. Germany, Israel, Malta and San Marino have given 6 points. Then come Estonia (5 points), Finland, Portugal and Spain (4 points), Moldova (3 points), Denmark and Iceland (2 points), Poland (1 point).
For its part, Armenia gave 12 points in Montenegro, 10 to Russia, Belarus 8, 7 to Greece, 6 in Germany, 5 in Switzerland, four in the Netherlands, 3 in San Marino, 2 Spain and one in Denmark.
Eurovision followed by nearly 200 million viewers remains one of the biggest media appointment of the song in Europe. And that, even if the votes are reflections of political affinity, strategic alliances to the detriment of the quality of artistic performance of candidates.
