Arm-Security-2017” International High-Tech Security Exhibition opened on Saturday under title “Secure Armenia” at the “YerevanExpo” Exhibition Complex under the coordination of the RA Ministry of Emergency Situations. The exhibition, that will last till September 4, aims at presenting systems and technologies for prevention of emergencies and elimination of their consequences as well as special equipment for rescue and fire safety services from main producers.
The opening ceremony of the Exhibition was attended by number of minister, including Minister of Emergency Situations (MES) Davit Tonoyan, Defense Minister Vigen Sargsyan, Healthcare Minister Levon Altunyan, Minister of Economic Development and Investments Suren Karayan as well as high-ranking officials, official delegations from around 20 countries.
MES Minister Davit Tonoyan noted at a briefing that in 2015 Armenia as UN member state joint the UN Plan of Action on Disaster Risk Reduction for Resilience (2015-2013) that seeks to more effectively integrate UN operational preparedness and response capacities to disaster risk reduction into national operational and capacity development arrangements.
“We expect this Exhibition will contribute to the disaster risk reduction and introduction of innovative high-tech means on prevention and elimination of emergency situations, ensuring fire safety, preparedness for disaster challenges,” Tonoyan said.
Within framework of the practical program of the Exhibition It is planned to hold two-day conferences on prevention and elimination of emergency situations, ensuring fire safety, preparedness for disaster challenges.
Discussions are planned between the RA Ministry of Emergency Situations and the representatives of cyber security, insurance companies, gas stations, petrol stations, high–ranking officials of the Nuclear Power Plant dedicated to the issues of creating an effective defense system of population and territories in case of emergency situations, in particular, the necessity of compulsory insurance of especially dangerous production facilities, the possibility of relieving the state burden of compensation for damages caused by emergencies, etc.
