PACE adopts Turkish Bosnia MP’s anti-Armenian report “Turks are full control of PACE”

January 26, 2016 By administrator

The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) on Tuesday voted on PACE MP Milica Marković’s (Bosnia and Herzegovina) anti-Armenian report about Sarsang Reservoir in Nagorno-Karabakh, and entitled “Inhabitants of frontier regions of Azerbaijan are deliberately deprived of water.”

The respective draft resolution was adopted by a vote of 98 for, 71 against, and 40 abstentions.

As reported earlier, however, the PACE MPs rejected MP Robert Walter’s (UK) anti-Armenian report entitled “Escalation of Violence in Nagorno-Karabakh and Other Occupied Territories of Azerbaijan.”

To note, representatives of the Unified European Left Group, the Socialist Group, and the European People’s Party voted against both anti-Armenian reports.

UPPER KARABAKH REPORT OF ANTI-ARMENIAN WALTER Open Letter to Members of CCAF Council of Europe

January 12, 2016 By administrator

arton120824-480x316In the photo, Mr Robert Walter, European MP, receives his Turkish ID card Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu from the hands of Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey on 25 May

The Council of Europe, exposed to a powerful Turkish-Azerbaijani lobby is about to vote a report * roughly the pro-Azeri conflict over Nagorno Karabakh. Oil and geo-strategic interests on one side, human rights on the other. Reproduction below of personalized mail that the co-chairs of CCAF sent to all MEPs.

Madam Deputy, Mr Deputy,

The CFC informed that the report grossly biased British MP Robert Walter on the situation in Nagorno Karabakh is listed on the agenda of the Plenary Assembly of the PACE January 26 and that might be adopted, given the weight of the axis Ankara-Baku in this place and entanglement of a number of interests linked to it directly or indirectly. It goes without saying that if such a possibility were to materialize, it would not only alienate the prospects of the conflict solution, but it would cast aspersions on the integrity of an institution that is in charge of promoting democratic values and not to serve as a relay to the designs of a dictatorship that does not speak its name, but we know only too authoritarian in nature, bellicose and racist.

Need we recall in this regard the many reports of human rights organizations on the turpitude of the Aliyev regime in terms of freedom of press, opinion, political prisoners, corruption nationally and internationally , election fraud, torture, etc. ? Need I remind the closure of the OSCE office and Radio Free Europe in Baku? Need we recall the statements of President Aliyev, denouncing Armenia as an “artificial state built” on Azerbaijani lands? Need we recall the militaristic bulimia his government whose budget devoted to armaments almost equivalent to the GDP of Armenia? A state whose philosopher Michel Onfray recently sorry after a tourist trip that made last summer, the “anti-Armenian racism hysterical, permanent and dangerous” that prevailed. Need we recall that it was under the blows of panturc nationalism, whose claim to the leadership of Azerbaijan – do they claim that their country with Turkey as two states for one people? – That the existence of Armenians on their historical land was reduced to a trickle? And that the events mentioned here are part of this logic? Need I remind you that when the Parliament of Nagorno-Karabakh voted and demanded through legal channels to be linked to Armenia in 1988, Baku’s response was to organize pogroms in Sumgait antiarméniens immediately to hundreds kilometers of this territory? Need we recall the famous sentence of the great Andrei Sakharov, Nobel Peace Prize, who said that the Nagorno-Karabakh is a matter of survival for Armenians and national pride business for Azerbaijan?

All these facts are of course absent from the report M.Walter, which does not even bother to mention once the “right to self-determination”, a principle which is however one of those, so-called Madrid, on which belligerents had agreed to negotiate a solution.

Drowning at will fish in a series of insignificant details, the report intends Mr Robert Walter overshadow the main issue of this conflict: the right to the existence of Armenians in an environment marked by the 1915 genocide and conditioning the impunity it has been. For it is indeed unfortunately in tacit complicity with respect to the first genocide of the twentieth century that is anchored axis Ankara / Baku. And it is in that its continuation will build its antiarméniennes strategies that today are an outrageous extension within the Council of Europe.

Nagorno-Karabakh is not the Sudetenland and Armenia is not the imperialist state that tends to portray, in small steps, Walter, formerly a member of the friendship group with Azerbaijan in the British Parliament and happy beneficiary of a Turkish national who was graciously granted him by M.Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu in May, according to the Turkish daily Sabah. Armenia and Armenians covet anyone’s territories, they aim to convert anyone to their religion or to exercise their supposed power on any community or nation whatsoever. The old people still in danger simply asking that these economic and demographic giants compared to him Azerbaijan and Turkish ally, let live and perpetuate its culture trimillénaire what remains of their ancestral lands in his feet. And it is because they defend the right to exist, yet questioned a hundred years after the 1915 genocide by the forces of Pan-Turkism, that young Armenians are killed every week on the contact line between Free Republic of Nagorno Karabakh and Azerbaijan. He goes the Council of Europe today losing its soul by endorsing the shenanigans of Mr. Aliev and his puppets seeking bail to accomplish their evil designs?

PACE would not discredit since Europe that ruin its moral foundations, qu’avilir values. IN ADDITION It would make a great disservice to the cause of peace which claims to shamelessly Walter. And it is not only the Armenians of France that claim. In a statement released on November 12 in Vienna the Minsk Group of OSCE, only legal authority for conducting the negotiation process, made the following warning: “Given the sensitive nature of the negotiations, all attempts to change the or as creating parallel mechanisms can disrupt the negotiation process and impede progress towards a settlement. “

Weaken, delegitimise see the unique way of dialogue between the two countries, as implicitly proposed by the Walter report, will only contribute to destabilize a volatile situation.

Madam Deputy, Mr Deputy,
by refusing to lend to this immoral maneuver so gross, you will defend the honor of both Parliament and the chances of peace. Please accept, Mr. MP, the expression of our highest consideration

Dear Member of Parliament

The CCAF HAS Learnt que la grossly biased report on the situations in Nagorno Karabakh Prepared by train British MP Robert Walter, is on the agenda of the Plenary Assembly of the PACE of 26 January, and May well be approved, Given the weight of the Ankara-Baku axis Within That forum and the Interweaving of a number of Directly and Indirectly connected interests. Needless to say, if this Were to happen, not only Would it push further Top away the prospect of Resolving That conflict, aim It Would aussi besmirch the integrity of an institution Whose role is to further Top democratic values, Rather than to Promote the schemes of year undeclared dictatorship, Whose authoritarian, bellicose and racist in nature is only too well Known.

We draw your attention to in this regard to the multiple postponements of human rights concernant organizations the misdeeds of the Aliev diet in terms of freedom of the press, freedom of opinion, Political Prisoners, corruption was a national and international level, electoral fraud, torture etc. . We draw your focus to the closure of the OSCE and Radio Free Europe offices in Baku. We draw your focus to the Pronouncements of President Aliyev, denouncing Armenia as a “State artificially constructed” on Azerbaijani lands. We draw your focus to the militaristic government icts of appetite, Whose arms Almost budget is equivalent to the GDP of Armenia. A State Where, as the philosopher Michel Onfray Lamented Recently, Following a tourist trip last summer He Took There, There reigns “a constant, hysterical, dangerous anti-Armenian racism.”

We Remind You That it is under the pressure of Panturkish nationalism, in the name of qui the leaders of Azerbaijan claim to act (They proclaim That Their country, together with Turkey, form two States aim only one people) que la existence of Armenians in Their historic lands HAS Become Virtually extinct. And events Mentioned here que la la même rationale-have. We Remind You That, When the Parliament of Nagorno-Karabakh Voted and Applied, in according with the law of the land, to be attached to Armenia in 1988, Baku’s response Was to time immediately organize anti-Armenian pogroms in Sumgait, Hundreds of miles away That area from. We Remind you of the famous statement by the winner of the Nobel Peace Prize, the great Andrey Sakharov, Who Declared conflict in Nagorno que la-Karabakh Was a matter of survival for the Armenians, of national pride for Azerbaijan.

All thesis facts are of course missing from Mr Walter’s report, qui Does not take the trouble to mention, Even ounce, the “right to self-determination”, Even Though it is one of the so-called “Madrid principles”, qui the Agreed we HAD belligerent party as a basis for Negotiating a solution. Burying the issue in a mass of irrelevant detail, Mr Robert Walter’s report sets out to obfuscate the issue at hand stake in this conflict: the Armenians’ right to exist in an environment shaped by the genocide of 1915 and Impunity caractérisé by ict. For, sadly, it is tacit collusion Their Careers in the first genocide of the 20th century That Binds together the Ankara-Baku axis. And it is the intent to continue this genocide icts That Generates anti-Armenian strategies, qui are now shamefully penetrating the Council of Europe Itself.

Nagorno-Karabakh is not the Sudetenland, and Armenia is not the imperialist State subtly Depicted by Mr Walter, train member of the All Party Parliamentary Group on Azerbaijan of the British Parliament, and the privileged recipient of Turkish citizenship kindly bestowed by Mr. Davotoglu last May, selon the Turkish newspaper Sabah. Armenia and Armenians do not covet anyone’s territory, They Do not aim to convert anyone to Their religion, nor to exercise power over Their Alleged Any community or nation Whatsoever. This ancient people Constantly threatened This is with death. It only aims Asks economic and demographic que la Giants Compared with Itself and Its That Azerbaijan are Turkish ally allow it to live and perpetuate icts three-thousand year old culture, in what remains of ancestral lands icts. And It Is Because They Are Defending That right to exist, qui est still Questioned by Pan-Turkist influences one hundred years partner after the 1915 genocide, That young Armenians ares currently being white killed every week on the touch line entre the free Republic of Nagorno-Karabakh and Azerbaijan.

Will the Council of Europe now lose icts soul by ratifying the schemes of Mr. Aliev and his puppets, Who seek icts moral backing in order to carry out Their sinister AIMS? Would not this end only in the PACE Europe discrediting, destroying the moral foundations icts, icts and debasing values. It aussi Would be extremely detrimental to the causes of peace, qui Mr Walter brazenly claims to serve. France’s Armenians are not alone in this view Taking. In a statement Issued is 12 November in Vienna, the Minsk Group of the OSCE, qui is the only party Legally empowered to conduite the negotiation process, HAS Issued The Following warning: “Given the sensitive extremely kind of the negotiations, any Attempt to change Their gold size to create parallel Mechanisms May disturb the negotiation process and hinder progress Towards a settlement. “Weakening, Even delegitimising the only channel for dialogue entre les two countries, as the Walter report implicitly Suggests, can only contribuer to destabilize an explosive already position .

Dear Member of Parliament, by Refusing to lend yourself to Such blatant and immoral manipulation, you Will Be Both Defending the honor of Parliament and giving peace a chance.

Graffiti on the wall of St. Mary's Church in Istanbul says '1915, a blessed year'

Graffiti on the wall of St. Mary’s Church in Istanbul says ‘1915, a blessed year’

ISTANBUL—Anti-Armenian hate speech graffiti appeared on the walls of an Armenian church, around the same time as the Mayor of Ankara called Armenians “disgusting.” All this ahead of the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.

The St. Mary’s (Sourp Astvadzadzin) Church in the Bakirköy neighborhood of Istanbul was desecrated with hate speech graffiti that read “1915, a blessed year,” reported Today’s Zaman newspaper.

Another message on the church was read: “What does it matter if you are all Armenian when there is already one Ogün Samast,” referring to the convicted killer of Hrant Dink, after whose death many Turks took to the streets with placards that read “We are all Dink. We are all Armenian.”

Today’s Zaman wrote that its reporter visited the site on Wednesday morning and found that the graffiti had been painted over. But an administrator at the church said, “This type of thing happens all the time.” The Armenian Patriarchate of Istanbul refused to comment on the matter. No criminal complaint has been filed.

The incident comes hot on the heels of another racist slur against Armenians in Turkey. It was reported on Tuesday that Ankara Mayor Melih Gökçek had filed a criminal complaint against Turkish-Armenian journalist Hayko Bagdat on defamation charges after Bagdat posted lighthearted tweets on his Twitter account referring to the mayor as an Armenian after the March 2014 local elections.

Gökçek appears to believe it an insult to be called an Armenian as his lawyer petitioned the Ankara Prosecutor’s Office, saying, “The statements [by Bagdat] are false and include insult and libel.”

Ankara mayor says being called an “Armenian” is an insult
Ankara Mayor Melih Gökçek has filed a criminal complaint against Turkish-Armenian journalist Hayko Bagdat on defamation charges, after the latter jokingly posted tweets referring to him as an Armenian after the March 2014 local elections.

According to the Diken website and the state-run Anadolu news agency, Gökçek’s petition to the Ankara Prosecutor’s Office stated that Bagdat, who has more than 300,000 followers on Twitter, wrote a series of posts in the wake of Gökçek’s victory in last year’s March elections. One of Bagdat’s messages said: “It is official; they gave the capital city to an Armenian. What a shame!” according to the petition.

The petition also said a Twitter hashtag “melihgökçekermeniymis” (Melih Gökçek turns out to be Armenian) was allegedly used by Bagdat in his tweets on the social media website.

Gökçek’s lawyer said in the petition that the mayor is “a citizen of the Turkish Republic who loves his country and his nation” and that Bagdat is aware of this. “The statements [by Bagdat] are false and include insult and libel,” the petition said.

In addition, the mayor filed a lawsuit with the court claiming that he was insulted by being called “Armenian.”

Gökçek also sued Bagdat in civil court, demanding compensation of 10,000 liras for psychological damages. Bagdat announced the lawsuit on Twitter, saying: “Turns out Melih Gökçek sued me demanding 10,000 liras for calling him “Armenian, dude. We are going to have so much fun.”

Azeri-Israeli Propagandist Throws Stones at Armenia from Glass House

December 16, 2014 By administrator

BY HARUT SASSOUNIANharut-sassounian-small1The JNS.org website (Jewish and Israel news) posted a venomous, anti-Armenian article by Arye Gut with a bombastic headline: “Anti-Semitism in Armenia: A Clear and Present Danger.”

JNS.org identifies the author as “an Azerbaijani Israeli” who is “a board member of the Israeli-Azerbaijani International Organization, official coordinator of the ‘Justice for Khojaly!’ international campaign in Israel, and an expert in international relations.”

Dozens of Azeri and Turkic media outlets rushed to reprint this Armenophobic propaganda, stressing that it originated from a ‘popular’ Jewish news source. The article may have been written in Baku, planted in Israeli and Jewish publications, and then reprinted in Azerbaijan to lead readers into thinking that it comes from an objective third party source.

Gut claims that Armenia’s Jewish minority “shrunk dramatically” after the end of “a more tolerant” Soviet rule! He admits, as an afterthought, that “Armenia’s ongoing economic collapse” is equally responsible for the dwindling number of Jews “from more than 5,000 to just a few hundred.” Gut fails to mention, however, that during the same period over one million Armenians also left their homeland due to abysmal economic conditions.

The Azeri-Israeli author further accuses Armenians of “cultural violence,” referring to the existence of anti-Semitic books and TV programs. Yet he grudgingly acknowledges that “such unfortunate incidents” occur “in many countries.” If that is the case, why is he singling out Armenia? Could it be that he has ulterior motives? As “official coordinator of the ‘Justice for Khojaly!’ international campaign in Israel,” is Gut a paid agent or doing all this hard work — writing pro-Azerbaijan/anti-Armenia articles — out of the goodness of his heart?

Gut goes on to defame Armenians, claiming that “around 1.3 million out of 2.2 million adults in Armenia expressed anti-Semitic attitudes.” He misleads readers into thinking that he has personally interviewed 1.3 million Armenians all of whom supposedly made anti-Jewish statements! What Gut is referring to is Anti-Defamation League’s (ADL) flawed global survey which reported that 58% of a random sample of 500 Armenians, interviewed mostly by telephone, expressed anti-Semitic views. As Gut’s figure of 1.3 million Armenians comes from ADL’s survey, he should have also mentioned the results of the same survey for his beloved Azerbaijan — one of the worst violators of human rights in the world — which shows that 2.4 million Azeris harbored anti-Semitic sentiments, almost double the number of Armenians!

Since Gut is concealing Azerbaijan’s figures, let’s expose them to see how they compare with those of Armenia, based on the results of ADL’s 11-question survey:

1. 3.2 million Azeris and 1.5 million Armenians replied “probably true”: “Jews are more loyal to Israel than to the country they live in.”
2. 3.4 million Azeris and 1.6 million Armenians replied “probably true”: “Jews have too much power in the business world.”
3. 3.2 million Azeris and 1.5 million Armenians replied “probably true”: “Jews have too much power in international financial markets.”
4. 2 million Azeris and 1 million Armenians replied “probably true”: “Jews still talk too much about what happened to them in the Holocaust.”
5. 3.4 million Azeris and 1.3 million Armenians replied “probably true”: “Jews don’t care what happens to anyone but their own kind.”
6. 2.5 million Azeris and 1.1 million Armenians replied “probably true”: “Jews have too much control over global affairs.”
7. 2.5 million Azeris and 1.1 million Armenians replied “probably true”: “Jews have too much control over the United States government.”
8. 2.4 million Azeris and 1.2 million Armenians replied “probably true”: “Jews think they are better than other people.”
9. 2.3 million Azeris and 0.9 million Armenians replied “probably true”: “Jews have too much control over the global media.”
10. 2 million Azeris and 0.8 million Armenians replied “probably true”: “Jews are responsible for most of the world’s wars.”
11. 2.4 million Azeris and 1.4 million Armenians replied “probably true”: “People hate Jews because of the way Jews behave.”

ADL’s Global Survey results are even more devastating for Turkey — 34 million Turks out of an adult population of 49 million are found to be anti-Semitic.

Gut concludes his anti-Armenian diatribe by depicting the so-called “Khojaly massacre” as “one of the worst tragedies of the 20th century,” thereby raising the alleged killing of “613 people” in Khojaly during the Karabagh war to the level of 6 million victims of the Jewish Holocaust and 1.5 million victims of the Armenian Genocide!

Gut must be unaware of Benjamin Franklin’s famous words: “Don’t throw stones at your neighbors, if your own windows are glass!”

Davutoglu Appoints Foreign Minister with Proven Anti-Armenian Track Record

August 29, 2014 By administrator

Turkey’s new foreign minister, Mevlut Cavusoglu

ANKARA—Turkey’s newly appointed Prime Minister and former foreign minister Ahmet Davutoglu announced a new cabinet on Thursday, which appears to be largely 6. Büyükelçiler Konferansıunchanged and strictly loyal to Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the country’s decade-long leader recently voted to become President.

Most noteworthy among the appointments, Turkey’s new foreign minister Mevlut Cavusoglu, the country’s former Europe Minister, whose most infamous deed was reintroducing a bogus subcommittee on the Nagorno Karabakh conflict at the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) during Turkey’s chairmanship of the Council of Europe in 2011.

The head of Armenia’s parliamentary delegation at the PACE, Davit Harutiunian, accused the Strasbourg-based assembly and its then-president Cavusoglu of anti-Armenian bias. “The assembly has disgraced itself with such an overtly biased approach,” he said.

The move was seen largely as a ploy by Turkey — Azerbaijan’s closest ally — to draft an “anti-Armenian” resolution on the Karabakh conflict, as another Armenian PACE delegate, Naira Zohrabian, explained.

A year after his boondoggle at the PACE, Cavusoglu set his sights on Armenia’s international partners who dared to take a moral stand on Turkey’s denial of the Armenian Genocide. Cavusoglu, who was at the time the leader of Erdogan’s ruling AK party, said in 2012 that French President Francois Hollande was “more dangerous that Sarkozy” when it came to the issue of criminalizing the denial of the Armenian Genocide.

The remarks came when President Hollande reached out to the French-Armenian community and reiterated his campaign pledge to shepherd a law that would criminalize the Armenian Genocide.

Cavusoglu has also kept in line with Turkey’s thoroughly destabilizing foreign policy agenda regarding all of its neighbors. When the European Court of Human Rights ordered Turkey to pay a fine to Cyprus for its invasion of the country, Cavusoglu readily echoed Davutoglu’s objections and vows to ignore the ruling while representing Turkey in Europe.

But Cavusoglu is still somehow a figure seen as reassuring for the United States and the European Union. According to Agence France-Presse, many expect Cavusoglu to rebalance Turkish foreign policy which was condemned for over-ambition under Davutoglu. An unrealistic expectation if there ever was one.

Newly-appointed Deputy Prime Minister Numan Kurtulmus put it succinctly when he admitted, “The focus of the government has not changed. It is just a partial modification.”

Expert: Erdogan has toughened his anti-Armenian rhetoric

August 18, 2014 By administrator

YEREVAN. – Newly elected president of Turkey Erdogan has toughened his anti-Armenian rhetoric, turkologist Ruben Melkonyan said.

Edogan-armenianThe expert believes that Erdogan’s behavior is linked to the parliamentarian elections slated for 2015, and his party is trying to please the voters with nationalist views in order to have constitutional majority.

Melkonyan pointed out the fact that Erdogan will pay his first visit to Azerbaijan after being elected as a president. During the visit, we should expect statements on Turkish-Azerbaijani friendship with clear anti-Armenian emphasis.

“Former president Gul was known for his more diplomatic and careful behavior. Unlike him, Erdogan always displayed unbalanced anti-Armenian, and sometimes anti-Christian, policy,” he emphasized.

Prime Minister Erdogan won presidential elections that were held in Turkey on August 10.
