The nomination of the candidates for the Prime Minister is over and the only candidate is acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. This was reported to Armenpress by the Department of Media and Public Relations of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia. Candidates’ nomination has expired on October 30 at 18:00.
Nikol Pashinyan’s candidacy was nominated by the NA “Exit”, “Tsarukyan” factions and the deputies who left the RPA faction.
The NA session of the Prime Minister’s election will be held on November 1 at 12:00.
Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan resigned on October 16 to start the process of the law-making process. On October 24, the National Assembly discussed the question of electing the Prime Minister in the first round. The sole candidate nominated was Nikol Pashinyan, whose parliament did not elect the post of prime minister. Another round of Prime Minister’s election will take place seven days after the first round of voting. If the Prime Minister is not elected in the second round, the parliament is released by law and extraordinary parliamentary elections are appointed.
