Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili has expressed willingness to meet with the Russian leader.
He declared of his intention in a televised comment in response to Vladimir Putin’s earlier proposal for talks with the Georgian cabinet.
“I confirm that I am ready to meet with Russia’s leadership,” Georgia Online quoted him as saying.
Mr Putin said Tuesday that he does not rule out the possibility of a meeting with Georgia’s leader. “If that’s what he wishes, why not?” he told a Georgian correspondent when asked if the Russian leader has any plans to meet with his Georgian counterpart.
The Russian president said further that he is very happy to see Georgian sportsmen in the 2014 Winter Olympics.
