Narek Hakhnazaryan, a young Armenian cellist who won Gold Medal at the International Tchaikovsky Competition in 2011, is performing a benefit concert in Boston on Wednesday.
The event is supported by the Embassy of Armenia to the United States and the All Armenian Fund, the Armenian National Committee of America says in a statement on Facebook.
The proceeds of the concert will go to the Armenians of Kessab, the north-western Syrian border town that came under heavy militant attacks last week, forcing many to flee their homes.
The concert will take place the Newton Upper Falls (Chestnut Street).
The suggested donation is $50.
