YEREVAN. – Three members of “Stand Up, Armenia” initiative, among them former presidential candidate Andrias Ghukasyan, were detained during the action in Republic Square on Friday.
The reason is activists’ refusal to remove tires that they had brought to build a stage.
According to the initiative members, the police officers took away personal belongings of the demonstrators.
The members of the “Stand up, Armenia” initiative staged a sit-in on July 27 in Yerevan’s Republic Square, demanding to revoke the decision on electricity price hike in Armenia.
