An exchange pof gunfire between fuel smugglers and soldiers has left eight people wounded on the Turkish-Syrian border, the Anatolia News Agency reported.

The armed attack is thought to have been launched after civilians tried to help the territorists.
One of the wounded is said to be a child. Four have been hospitalized in Reyhanli, the Turkish town near which the gun attack began.

Several civilian have reportedly claimed that bullets had been directed to houses and cars.
The area is now said to be under stricter control
