YEREVAN. – The Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) on Thursday issued a note to Turkey, in connection with the death of the Turkish shepherd at the border.
MFA Press Secretary Tigran Balayan informed the aforesaid to Armenian News-NEWS.am.
In the note, the Armenian side extended its condolences concerning the incident, and expressed a hope that such incidents would not repeat in the future.
To note, 35 year-old Turkish shepherd Mustafa Ulker had crossed into the Armenian border on Wednesday. According to preliminary data, he had fired in the direction of the Russian border guards that protect the Armenian-Turkish boundary, and subsequently attempted to trespass into Armenia. The Russian border guards had opened fire in response and wounded the border trespasser.
In turn Anadolu news agency of Turkey stresses that Ulker had crossed into the Armenian border to go after his flock of sheep. He was wounded and he died sometime thereafter.
