A former head of an investigative group, tasked with probing circumstances of the March 1-2, 2008 deadly post-electoral events, has filed a lawsuit against Sasun Khachatryan, the head of the Armenian Special Investigative Service (SIS), Tert.am has learned from Datalex.
Vahagn Harutyunyan, who faces charges over fabricating evidence pertaining to the criminal case (in an effort to cover up an unconstitutional decree allowing the armed forces’ involvement in the clashes, as well the illegal use of weapons), brands the allegations as libel, urging that Khachatryan “dismiss the entire text”.
A first instance court had earlier issued an arrest ruling as a measure of restraint against Harutyunyan. He is now reported to be on the wanted list.
