An Armenian member of Turkey’s Grand National Assembly, Selina Dogan, has hailed the recent parliamentary elections in Armenia, congratulating Acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on his political team’s landslide success.
In comments to Tert.am, Dogan also expressed hope that the political transition will help create a platform for an Armenian-Turkish dialogue, allowing the two countries to seek renewed efforts towards reconciliation.
“Each and every one of us must use that opportunity. Availing myself of the chance too, I extend my warm greetings to the mothers who walked to the square during the demonstrations [in April],” she said.
Pashinyan’s political bloc My Step received 70.44% of the vote in the December 9 snap parliamentary elections.
