On Friday, January 11, 2019, Honorary Consul Adroushan Andy Armenian was invited by St. Garabed Church Parish Council to provide a presentation regarding village conditions in the Republic of Armenia, focusing on the village of Kalavan, in the Gegharkunik province.
The Honorary Consul had written about his November 2018 trip to Kalavan which was published in Asbarez and Armenian Weekly newspapers. In coordination with Armenian American Cultural Society of Las Vegas (AACS) Mr. Armenian started a campaign to raise $5,000 in order to provide solar water heaters to five elderly and needy families in the village of Kalavan.
We are glad to inform you that at the conclusion of the slide presentation, several individuals made generous donations raising over $2,500 for this campaign. We have received other donations as well in the mail and we will share details shortly.
We appreciate the community’s interest and support and we thank your consideration to donate for this campaign. You could mail your tax-deductible checks made out to AACS to the following address;
AACS, 2054 East Desert Inn Road, Las Vegas, NV 89169.
