Former head of the State Oversight Service of the Republic of Armenia Davit Sanasaryan has sued the Commission on Ethics of High-Ranking Officials. As reported the judicial information system to Armenian News-NEWS.am, the Administrative Court accepted the statement of claim for proceedings on April 17.
Davit Sanaryan demands declaring as null and void and eliminating Decision N 28-A of the Ethics Commission on Ethics of High-Ranking Officials of 18 March 2019 “On approving the conclusion on violation by Head of the State Oversight Service Davit Sanasaryan of the rule of ethics stipulated by point 3 of part 3 of Article 28 of the Law of the Republic of Armenia “On public service””.
Based on the application filed by Rector of Yerevan State University Aram Simonyan, the Commission instituted proceedings and recorded, with the mentioned conclusion, that Head of the State Oversight Service Davit Sanasaryan had committed a violation of a rule of ethics stipulated by the Law of the Republic of Armenia “On public service”, that is, he had not contributed to the establishment of confidence and respect towards the office held and the body represented by him with his activities.
Davit Sanasaryan declared that he didn’t accept the decision of the Commission and that he would dispute it through judicial procedure.
On April 18, Davit Sanasaryan was charged with misuse of official powers in the criminal case being examined by the National Security Service, and signature to not leave the country was selected as a preventive measure.
The investigator also took a decision to temporarily terminate the term of office of Davit Sanasaryan.
