A spokesperson for Armenia’s president says the country is expected make political statements on the Armenia-Turkey protocols in the run-up to the Genocide centennial.
“In just a couple of days, on April 24, we are entering the year of events dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. Remembrance events are going to be organized to unite people around the world against that evil. There will also be politicastatements which will be in harmony with the spirit of the year,” Arman Saghatelyan told the state news agency Armenpress.
The spokesperson said said that President Serzh Sargsyan referred to the Armenian-Turkish deal at his Friday meeting with Defense Ministry officials, adding that he made no mention as to the protocols’ future.
