The former ruling Republican Party’s spokesperson has voiced his strong criticism of Acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s government, blaming it for misleading the society “amid the growing challenges in Armenia”.
“While Pashinyan’s government is attempting – so happily and proudly – to fool the public in an effort to cover up the real surge in prices, the economic decline and the negative impacts of the growing natural gas tariffs, the challenges are increasingly becoming more predominant,” Eduard Sharmazanov says on Facebook.
The politician cites Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev’s recent call for respecting the country’s territorial integrity in the Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh) peace process and continuing the isolation of Armenia “with a further move to withdraw troops from the territory of Azerbaijan”.
“The Azerbaijani leader is, yet another time, disrespecting two out of the three principles adopted by the co-chairmanship of the OSCE Minsk Group – exercise of peoples’ right to self- determination and non-use of force – pushing ahead with the view ‘territories for peace’. This is impermissible and condemnable,” reads part of his statement.
