YEREVAN. – As of Sunday 5:00 pm, the voter turnout in the National Assembly election in Armenia was 39.54 percent of eligible voters or 1,025,002, Deputy Chairperson of the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) Laura Galstyan said during a briefing.
Overall, 38.04% of voters (or 323,323) cast their ballot in capital city Yerevan, 31.29% (38,945) in Gyumri and 38.68% (37,265) in Vanadzor.
As of 5 pm the turnout is 11 percent lower as compared to the parliamentary elections in 2017.
Two blocs and nine parties are running in the elections. Among them are “My Step” bloc, “We” bloc, the Republican Party of Armenia, Prosperous Armenia party, ARF Dashnaktsutyun, Orinats Yerkir, Bright Armenia, Sasna Tsrer party, Christian-Democratic Party, Citizens’ Decision party and National Progress party.
