Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has expressed his disapproval of the Armenian authorities’ call to make Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh) a direct participant in the ongoing peace process.
“The Armenian government is attempting to change the negotiations format. That’s unacceptable, and an attempt to block conflict settlement talks,” Minval.az quotes him as telling the participants of an international conference in Baku.
Aliyev added that the proposal is unacceptable also to high-ranking officials of the European Union and the co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group. “Negotiations must be effective, not convenient,” he said, highlighting also the unacceptability of the status-quo.
